Nio av tio personer med demenssjukdom uppvisar någon gång under sjukdomsförloppet någon form av beteendemässiga eller psykiska symtom. Beteendemässiga och psykiska symtom vid demenssjukdom (BPSD) omfattar en rad olika symtom som har två saker gemensamt – de orsakar stort lidande för personen med demenssjukdom och är ofta särskilt svåra att möta för närstående och vårdpersonal.
